South Beach Diet
A popular weight loss diet as by Cardiologist Arthur Agatston ,MD in 2003 .This diet was first outlined in the best selling biok "The South Beach Diet:The Delicious,Doctor-Designed,Foolproof plan for Fast and Healthy Weight Loss"
The amount of the carbohydrate is low whereas the protein and healthy fat amount is higher as compared to the typical eating plan.Also one thing is to be considered that South Beach Diet is not a strictly low- carbohydrate diet .
Talking about the Ketogenic version of the South Beach Diet, this includes very few carbs .
The main purpose of the South Beach Diet is changing the balance of the diet we eat for encouraging ourselves weight loss.
The complex carbohydrates , lean protein anf the healthy fats are balanced by the South Beach Diet which makes it nutrient -dense ,rich in fibre diet which can be followed for a lifetime of healthy diet.
Now lets talk about the phase of the South Beach Diet.
1. Phase 1-
The first two week phase is chosen for elimination cravings for food containing high amount of sugar and the starches so that weight loss can be gained . In these week, it is better to have high fibre vegetables , unsaturated fats including avocados ,seeds. We must focus on eating lean protein like poultry(skinless), lean beef.
3. Phase 2-
It os weight loss phase . Some of the food prohibited in earlier phase can be added back such as whole-grain breads ,whole-wheat pasta. One needs to stay in this phase untill reached the goal weight.
3. Phase 3-
Phase 2 is given as a maintenance phase. One needs to continue to follow the lifestyle principles from other two phase. One can eat all type of food in modernization.
