Mutation is a sudden change in phenotype due to change in genome of a cell or virus. The scientific study of mutation was given by Morgan. There are many factors which causes mutation in any organism.
When we talk about gamma rays, it causes mutation by producing free radicals. Talking about the x-rays, it causes mutation by Deletion. The Ultra Violet rays causes so by forming Dimer.
About 99.9% percent of the Mutation is harmful(lethal).Only some of the mutation are useful as seen in the movies of superheroes. Just kidding.
